Bounds, limits, the edge of a place or a time.
The starting point for this work was the phenomenon of unreliable memory.
Accessing memory appears to be a constructive process. The mind recreates places and experiences in the moment of recollection. So how much if any, of our memories reflect objective truth?
This series explores the collision between the reality of a place of memory and the subjective reconstruction of that place in the mind. The memory rebuilt anew at the moment of recall. Patchworked from adjacent memories, imagined details, received stories and fragments of subjective experience.
The work was a process of revisitation. A return to half-forgotten places of childhood. Each panorama was shot digitally and then transferred to analogue film. The scenes then recreated by exposing chemically treated mixed materials to the negative in the darkroom. Each silver gelatin print was then hand collaged back together to recreate the original scene. An act of physically reconstructing memory.
The collaged objects were then photographed once more and placed back into the original scenes as digital composites.
A C-Type (Chromagenic print) is a traditional photographic print where the paper is exposed using lasers projecting a digital image on to the paper rather than a bulb shining light through a negative. The paper is then processed in the traditional way using photographic developer, followed by a bleach fix and wash to remove the chemicals from the paper. The result is a colour photograph of the highest quality.

Each C-Type or Giclée artwork is printed to order at a UK print bureau that I have personally colour proofed the artwork with. This can take 4-6 days before shipping. Therefore I usually aim to deliver within 6-12 business days.
Once your order has shipped I will email you the tracking information the next day. This generally comes online 24 hours after I have shipped your order.
I generally use Royal Mail Special Delivery, which is a tracked and insured service. For some international orders I may opt for other carriers such as UPS, DHL or FEDEX.

No. My prints are sold unframed, to be framed or mounted to the buyer's preferred specification.
If your item(s) arrive in a damaged condition I will exchange for a re-print free of charge. I will compensate you for returning the damaged print to me so that I can dispose of it and there won't be an issue with editioning.
Since each image is printed specially to order, I am unable to offer a returns service.
